2011 Subaru Tribeca Limited Subaru launched the initial "crossover" trend in the 90s, way before the term was even coined, with the all-wheel-drive Outback. In 2005, Subaru played the move again, using the BL/BP Legacy platform to create the next generation 7-seat crossover. Subaru technology has definitely evolved since my BK Legacy wagon, so when Austin Subaru emailed me the deepest Subaru discount I have ever seen I couldn't resist taking delivery of one.
Pictures Engine: 3.6L DOHC 24-valve H6. 10.5:1 compression ratio. Something you will only find in Subarus and Porsches - a boxer engine, providing lower center of gravity for handling performance and stability. And of course, it's mounted longitudinally, sending power to the full-time AWD drivetrain. Transmission: 5-speed automatic (Sportshift is the only one I've ever driven that actually reponds to a quick triple-tap on the stick with a skip-shift from 5th to 2nd) Drivetrain: full-time AWD with a planetary limited-slip VTD center differential and limited-slip rear differential. I was pleasantly surprised at the off-road capability even though there is no ability to lock axles. Here's a Youtube video showing my Tribeca climbing ramps with 2 diagonal wheels off the ground. Suspension: 4-wheel independent suspension with multi-link passive rear/4-wheel steering Dimensions:
