I have been custom-building computers for a while now, and the following is the most recent one I did. I haven't built any for other people since, because the gap between custom-build and ordered a Dell has narrowed and now I just recommend everyone to buy a Dell or an IBM, because from my experience they are solidly built and have good customer service. Dell did have lots of problems with their machines that ran Windows ME, however, but that sounds like a software issue.


This one, built in June 1999, is an AMD Athlon 500 with 128MB RAM, a Diamond Viper V770 32MB VRAM, SB Live, SCSI, and Video capture...

...DVD-ROM, ZIP drive, and 13GB 7200rpm 2MB cache HDD.
