Under SAP leadership/ownership, Business Objects has made significant pricing/licensing changes. Cindi sums it up nicely in her blog - it seems like the most interesting change is that test and development environments are no longer charged extra for licensing.

Picture - I didn't think the car could get dirtier but yesterday's drive to Bloomington, IN pasted bugs all over the front of the Subaru. So today, at our wrenching session at Joe's place, I gave it the first wash in addition to the first oil change under new ownership. Ryan got the pollen off of his car too, in addition to the first installment of his lighting mods.
Picture - In case anyone ever accuses us of only embarking on wimpy car projects on Joe's garage we had John's 2008 Legacy GT up on jack stands for over 6 hours. The entire brake system was overhauled - all, brake pads, brake fluid, and all brake lines replaced with stainless steel. Disconnecting the lines from the hard brake lines turned out to be quite a challenge that we all took turns fighting with. Then getting clips back on the connections was a little puzzling too.

I swapped ends of the Kumho tire spectrum today as the Power Stars came off and the MXs went on with the 16" wheels. Not that the Power Stars were useless - they came with the white Subaru I bought and were surprisingly good for being pretty much the cheapest tire you can possibly buy. They are quiet, but have some of the stiffest 70-series sidewalls I've ever encountered. That means comfort is not a priority, but handling is one of the best I have seen from an all-season tire. Straight up traction is not bad either - I will have to keep these around instead of ditching them as planned so I can see how well they do in the snow, or even dirt.
On the other hand, I have forgotten how incredibly loud the MXs are. I guess I have to be done enjoying the dual-port head's exhaust note now - these tires drown out all but the loudest engine noises.

While going through the Universe Design training manual for XI 3.0, it was nice to see that they attempted to make Aggregate Awareness easier to understand, but now there is only one simple example and the second half of the lesson seems to trail off...

You would think this would be enough reason to not sleep around: By the age of 25, one in two young people will get a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

License bureau, take three: I was a little concerned at first since it was only yesterday that I realized that the title had an incorrect digit on it. All Subaru Legacies have a B in the 4th digit, but someone had put in an 8 instead. I had used B when looking up the CarFax and it did show that Arizona title from 2004 but apparently they printed it wrong. The owner also copied it down wrong from the title to her bill of sale. Since it's a pretty clear mistake, they were able to correct it, so the Subaru is now titled and licensed.

This error got me thinking:
I don't think this is proper English, so I had a little laugh at first. Then I found myself using "got" in that way all the time while teaching class today - where did I pick up that slang anyway? Watching Top Gear tonight solved the whole mystery...
Our leasing company at Westport sent us cake! It was a really good cake - made by Knodel's Bakery and Catering.
