Picture - Pulled the turbo to properly fix the torn oil return line. Had all the essential tools out of course - big breaker bar, hammer, etc. I even had my old turbo out to study and practice on before I started breaking anything. Of course I couldn't resist taking a "twin turbo" shot.
I still managed to strip a nut to the uppipe - but the downpipe bolts were relatively easy thanks to the anti-seize that I used last time. Next time I'll just move the wastegate actuator from the start.
Picture - While waiting for the ultra copper silicone gasket maker to cure on that oil return pipe I took care of other less urgent things, like removing the intake silencer. I have never opened one to see what's inside so I took a look - it's not as restrictive as far as pipe diameter goes, but it does have an interest crudely cut slit to drain water.

Picture - A view from 4 miles away of the major fire at the galvanizing plant
Unwound tonight at Terrene Restaurant - today's New England clam chowder was exactly the soup I needed, and I was also pleasantly reminded of how good the lamb chops are when they offer that special.

Picture - Subaru decided to use T30 security screws on the driver's airbag. I guess airbag theft was an issue back in 1995.
Picture - So I had to haul all the way out to Harbor Freight to buy the T30 security bit to remove the driver's airbag. But that's not the end of it - the bit I bought lasted a whole 2 screws before breaking into many pieces on the third screw. And that's using hand tools too. I guess I'll have to take another trip.
