Wow, I was just fooling around with the Mac Plus, and found the battery compartment for the date and stuff. It has a regular AA battery in it! Woah! They should have that for all computers!
Oh wow! MY CD-ROM EXPLODED! The one I got a couple days ago. I was just using the computer as normal, and the CD-ROM spun up, and then, BANG! It sounded like a huge ELECTRICAL bang, and then I looked down and saw SPARKS fly out of the CD-ROM! Turns out, they weren't sparks, they were the silverish top layers of the CD, and pieces of the CD started flying out, and the ENTIRE FRONT FACE OF THE CD-ROM FLEW OFF. WOW! So then, out of panic, I quickly shut the machine down, and figured out what was going on. I hit the manual eject on the CD-ROM and dumped out all the pieces of my CD. It's a very good thing I had JUST removed Nabil's Gatecrasher CD, 2 minutes ago, after copying it! The CD that was in there was a CD-R I had burned! Oh wow, time to drive to my vendor and tell him what happened!

School was pitching stuff today, so I picked up an Apple IIe and a dual disk drive, and a very used Macintosh Plus. I'll have to see what kind of fun I can have with this. So now I have a new Macintosh Plus and an old one, sort of. As for the Apple IIe, this thing is ancient, and awesome. It's probably older than I am, it was introduced in January 1983. Wow, it actually had a 1.02 Mhz CPU, the MOS 6502 chip. I have to putz around and see how much RAM is installed, the base model has 64k. This thing has a bunch of expansion cards, so I'll have to see what they are for. One is apparantly a SCSI card (!!!), cause it's got the 40-pin connector. I do not have a monitor for it, though. I see this red composite output jack, though, and I wonder if I can use just any old TV for it.

Oh man. A friend of mine took me for a spin in a Porsche Boxster. Wow! That thing is glued to the road! It's insane! Acceleration is pretty good, thrilling, and the engine loves those high revs. He'd be crusing around @ 4000 rpm in 2nd gear, and 3rd gear, 4000rpm on the highway, and it'd sound fine. The convertible feeling is also just awesome, but like, steering response. Yikes! G-forces! Dang I love these small rear-engine roadsters, wear-able cars, practially.
Dang, there are two trunks in the Boxster! One in the back, one in the front. Ok, tiny, but still nifty, especially for a convertible. Dang, can't see the engine though, there is no hood! There is this compartment for oil and stuff in the back trunk, but that's it. I thought the Germans liked showing off the engine. Owell. It's still a really nice car.
Awesome! CompUSA didn't have too much fuss about it, and compressed air was on sale anyways, so I got like 2 10 oz cans for $10, and got $18 credit for returning that reusable crap, so I got $8 back basically.
Alright, I went on a total computer shopping spree. I went to Computer Concepts and bought a couple 100ft. patch cables to do some home networking, a PCI NIC card, an AT Keyboard, and a cheapo Acer CD-ROM drive, $36. I'll have to see how that drive performs, before my 10-day window to return it dissapears.
Yikes, sat in the Boxster too long, got home too late, I'll have to try out all my new computer toys tomorrow.

I'm stupid. I bought this stupid reusable air duster thing, and it's totally useless. There is no air pressure @ all, even when filled up all the way. Well, the stupid thing is, I could have returned it! Now, it's past the 14 days that I'm supposed to be alloted, but I only want an exchange for a real air duster, so I'll have to see if they let me slide on this one.

I'd been having this feeling that they should have small CD-R in digital cameras for a while now, and Sony has done it again. The Sony Mavica CD1000. Tight.
