So I replaced the failing hard drive in the family Pentium 90 computer, and while the case was open, I discovered the CPU fan was making strange sounds. It was kinda spinning wonkily, so I replaced it. Another thing I had to get done before leaving for 3 weeks.
Somehow, certified mail from Kansas City can take 8 days... that's how long it took my passport to come back from the Taiwan Consulate, where they had to assign me the visa. Well, as long as I have it now, I was kinda scared for a moment there.

Today I got a lot done, it makes me feel better about my fast leaving Tuesday morning for Taiwan. Things like buying shorts, and filling out college financial aid paperwork.

We had a stroll at the St. Louis Club tonight, some private party. It was an awesome room to play in, I fell in love with it immediately. I could hear everything, the group of 11 we had blended very nicely, and the room was very honest about it. I definitely enjoyed it, and the audience loved it too. There were a lot of people familiar with Ladue, people who sent their kids there before and such.

Susan, Kevin, Hannah, Andrea, and I went to a free Jazz concert tonight at the Botanical Garden tonight. It was a nice place to be, very relaxing. Afterwards, we stopped by Ted Derews, yummy.

We had another stroll at the University Club today, for the Opthamologist's Association. We played kinda a split show, one for the cocktail, and another for the dinner, so that was kinda nice. Afterwards, a lot of us went to Paige's house to view Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon on her ner DVD player. That was really neat.

I did some reading up today on Mitsubishi's new Lancer EVO VII. They put an Active Centre Differential on it, and as you can see by the diagram, the differential goes right after the transmission, before it drives the front wheels. It's very nice, cause it reacts 3X faster than a viscous-coupling differential, and Mitsubishi's offers 3 manual settings for the amount of clutch slippage to allow between the front and rear. The result is quite a superior system. Too bad the rumours of a 6-speed on the new EVO VII didn't come true, not matching the new Impreza STi. But we don't get a 6-speed Impreza either, so whatever. It would be nice if they can come up with a left-hand-drive version of the Lancer, and import it here! They have a wagon version of it too, for the first time.

I went on a drive with Amie this afternoon up to the Great River Road, and we looked around Elsa and Alton and stuff. It was a pretty day to do that.
