We had a Stroll today for the Traffic Club at the Frontenac Hilton, and that went really well. It was a lot of people's first stroll, the official first stroll of the season. The audience was very enthusiastic, as usual for Traffic Club dinners, and we had a blast. Afterwards, a lot of us went over to Andrea's house and watched Chicken Run. It's actually a pretty funny movie, it parodies a lot of different things and stuff.
Ok, 6 speed manuals are totally taking off here now. I remember I was having fits of exciement when I found out cars like the S2000, Audi Allroad, and Celica GT-S were coming with manuals. This year, we've got a whole bunch of cars that aren't supercars that cost a bomb with 6-speeds to choose from. From what I know, these are the new ones: Acura 3.2CL Type-S, Ford Focus SVT, Nissan Maxima, Nissan Sentra Spec V, Pontiac Vibe, and the Toyota Matrix. Surprising news especially from the Nissan front. If the Sentra Spec-V is priced right, it should be awesome. The new BMW 7-series will come with the industry's first 6-speed automatic, btw.

I missed driving for long distances, so around 20:00 I decided to hop on the Interstate and just drive, without getting off any Interstates for a while. I gave myself a highway tour of St. Louis, 96 miles. It made St. Louis seem very very small to me all of a sudden. My car also seemed to love it, as the continuous driving produced no questional effects. Afterwards, the hood of the car was nice and cool for a change. Before, just a 3 mile hop across town would cause the hood to get all hot, a combination of the bad water pump and oil spewing out of the gaskets.

I went to my first Campus Crusade meeting here at Wash U tonight. It was cool! They are a very active group, and I ran into Joe with absolutely no previous planning there, and that was awesome cause it was both of our first times there, lol.

Ugh, I was being really careless when I tested my program today for my CS101 class, and therefore got docked some unnecessary points when I was demonstrating it. It's been a while since I've been penalized for carelessness, I guess I need it. The Wash U Symphonic Orchestra had our final rehearsal before the concert Sunday. The music that we're playing is totally growing on me, I'm beginning to like it a lot. I'm beginning to love music in general more than ever, actually. <sigh>

Tropical storm Nari hit Taiwan, and is hovering over it, dumping a ridiculous amount of rain onto Taiwan. Only 55 have died so far, but the economic consequences I know are devestating. Having been there, and knowing what would be destroyed by flood of this magnitude... wow. Some cities got 32 inches of rain today, about a third of the annual average.
After Strolling rehearsal tonight, I decided to go check out the new Borders bookstore in Brentwood, cause I really wanted the new issue of Car and Driver. It's really nice, two floors and all. And their cafe is nice too, I got this specialty drink that was nice and tasty. I read a little burb in Road and Track about how Audi has a RS6 wagon in the works! It's calling for the 420bhp twin turbo V8. Tightness. Meanwhile, Audi changing the S6 this year in the U.S. It's only available as a wagon, but with a stupid automatic transmission. Bad move. Looks like I'm still set on the Allroad being my dream car.

Orchestra was canceled for morning service at church this morning because a change in the whole worship arrangement to accomodate a special prayer time. But the Baptist Association meeting went on as usual tonight, and it was pretty awesome. There's just something about these association meetings that is really awesome, this year has the same kind of feel as last year. A missionary from Africa came to share about some of the cool stuff he's doing there. After the meeting, I went to back to my parents', folded my laundry, fixed computer problems, ate, and then went over to Ricky's house briefly. We started to watch another James Bond movie, but it being a school night and everything I didn't stay all that long.
