Today was Ladue's homecoming, but I did a lot of stuff before that too. In Youth, we had sectionals the whole time, but we also got out early. Steph was in town, so after that I took Josh and Steph to meet some of my friends, like Beth, Andrea, and Hannah. Then I gave the two of them a little tour of Ladue, showed them MICDS, Ladue High School, etc.
We had a lot of problems getting everyone into the Macaroni Grill, which was our first plan for dinner. Splitting the reservation into two didn't seem to solve problems either (even though from my perspective it did, but not everyone could agree on it I guess), so 8 of us agreed to go with my idea of going to the Mandarin House. There was a wedding there, which kinda ruined things, service seemed a bit biased towards the party there, as with the environment too. But the food was good, as usual, and we had an awesome time. We got the Dinner for 8, which came with great dishes of all sorts, like Pork, Sweet and Sour Shrimp, Chicken, Duck, Potstickers, Vegetables, Mandarin Beef... wow. I think I managed to get most everyone going on chopsticks, and we all stuffed ourselves. All the way til 9:30.
We got to the high school just in time for the anouncement that Heidi won Homecoming Queen! That's just awesome. Other than the king and queen's spotlight dance, there weren't any slow dances for all the time we were there, though. Interesting. But Beth and I requested Afro Man's Cause I Got High song, and they played it! That was awesome!
Afterwards, we decided to go see if Kevin was still at Dierbergs and ask him to join us on our festivities of the night. Ricky decided he wanted to do a drag race. Ok, I can deal with that. The first generation Camry had a 115 bhp 2.0L I4 with a 4-speed automatic, even. Maybe not all the horses are still in it, cause he definitely saw the back of my car. We missed Kevin though, so we all decided to go to Andrea's house after that. And so ends the year's homecoming adventure.

Nice weather today! It actually cooled down, and rained at a nice and comfortable rate, and even turned into mist in the afternoon! My Intro to Psych was cancelled too, allowing me to walk to and from Brown Hall in the mist round trip in a row. Then I hopped in my car, and finally I decided to check my tyre pressures. I was getting no traction in the rain. Since the mechanic did the tyre rotations, they were obviously underinflated, but I didn't think by that much. I did a check, and they were running 26. Ouch. Well, I fixed that, and that fixed a lot of issues, like traction, and even the shudder that the car makes at high speeds. I wonder what was so good about underinflating my tyres like that. Owell.
It's Hannah's birthday today, and I got her the cutest stuffed Vegetable, yes, Larry the Cucumber. And it talks when you bounce it! "Helloooo!" "I am NOT a pickle" And I also got a Jay-jay The Jet-Plane book for her. They were such fun gifts!
We had a stroll for the 50th class reunion of Wash U at the Algonquin Country Club, and a lot more people showed up than they told us, so the 8 people that came to play totally did not cover the room enough. Owell. Afterwards, we went to Hannah's house and watched VeggieTales and ate cake, ice cream, and apple crisp. After that, we watched Hook. Great movie.

Well, I had my first test this semester (amazing, isn't it?) This was for SSM 326, Probability and Stats for Engineers. I think it went pretty well, I felt like I knew most of it.

I had a lot of fun with the program that we had to write in Java for CS101 today. Our assignment was to write a reaction-time simulator, to simulate driving reaction times. The assignment only called for rectangles to represent cars, and a brick wall, but I did the extra credit, which was to create a moving car in front, and to have pictures represent the cars. Yeah, that's what it's all about.

I hopped on I-170 and encountered the funniest driver. Traffic was heavy, and I was in the right lane, driving along, and I was approaching an onramp, and there was a line of cars coming on the highway. So I left 2 carlengths ahead of me for one car to get in, as per the usual heavy traffic merging specifications. And this lady in a white Accord Coupe was lined up to get in front of me. She looked at me and started yelling at me, was throwing an absolute fit, honking her horn and stuff. Talk about road rage, and this time for absolutely no reason, cause I left a lot of room for her. It was ridiculous, when she was ahead of me she moved her mirror so she could look at me straight in the eye and stuff. And then when I got off at Delmar, I passed her on the offramp, and I looked over and she was still yelling at me. Get a life!
