Today was a day full of more school-specific meetings, so I got to find out a little more about how the whole Engineering School system kinda works, and classes and such. We also went to Schnucks tonight, so hopefully the food situation will be stable for a while, this whole system.

I woke up early this morning to take the English Placement Examination. It was a couple of essay questions, wasn't too bad. Then I went to a couple open house sessions, got to meet some of the CS faculty. Then tonight, there was the Club 40 Dance, which was moderately exciting, some sort of a mixer.

Well this morning I moved into the Danforth Building of the William Greenleaf Eliot residential college at Washington University in St. Louis. It didn't take too long to get my stuff in place, really, but I know I've forgotten some things, and I can already tell it's going to take a while to get used to living here and stuff. But it's cool. We had Convocation ceremonies tonight, which is apparantly the only time other than graduation when our entire class is in one place. There are 1290 in our class this year... wow, now the college feels really huge.
Woah, and I ran into a couple people I went to grade school with, from Poplar Bluff! They're on the floor right above mine too.

Well, it's time I actually do something about this whole moving out thing, cause tomorrow I'm supposed to move into my dorm. So, time to separate things I will be bringing with me to college, and things I'm leaving at home. It's not so bad, my stuff is already in boxes.

We had a cool strolling rehearsal tonight, and we just read a lot of potential new music, it was lots of fun. Wow, I had forgotten all about Serenada, it's such an awesome piece.
Amie asked me to teach her how to make fried rice, so I tried this afternoon. Problem is, I always make rice in a rice-steamer, and so we kinda messed up the whole rice part, cause we had to make it on the stove. It turned out kinda bad, not only was it not good to eat, but it was simply unedible, I don't see how a normal stomach can digest half-cooked rice. I think we put too much water in it. Owell.

I am so spoiled. I went by the Danforth Hall today, where I will be living in college. We have suites, 2 people per room, and 2 rooms sharing a bathroom. Well, the other room of our suite is locked up, and nobody will live in it. It's directly above the faculty room, so that's why they left it empty. So my roommate and I share this really cool long bathroom with 2 sinks and stuff. And it connects to this front section of the locked up room, so we actually get a bonus closet and potential storage space over there. Furniture is pretty nice to start out, modular beds that are by default raised a couple feet, and a desk, dresser, and closet for each person. Pretty nice. Oh, I am looking forward to this one. Too bad almost all the people @ pre-orientation were gone, including my roommate, but what did I expect at 2 in the afternoon, lol.

Well after some playing around, I finally got Chinese software to work properly on the Palm OS of my Handspring Visor. Mom and I bought this handwriting recognition software while we were in Taiwan, and I finally had the time to figure out how to work it. Now Mom wants a Handspring, lol.
