Well, the Korean car companies save the day again. Not only has Saturn ended the SW line, but Ford has also dropped manual transmission from the Focus wagons! There goes all my favourite cheap wagons (But I am waiting for that supposed $10000 Kia Rio Wagon) But Daewoo still has a solution, with the Nubria CDX Wagon. The standard equipment for $15199 is quite amazing, covering ABS, power everything, heated mirrors, anti-theft and remote keyless entry, CD player, A/C, 14" alloys, rear window wiper/washer, roof rack, and fog lamps. Holy cow. Reviews say the tyres that come with it majorly suck, but that can be so easily fixed. The engine is quite nice too, it's a GM 129-bhp 2-litre I4, getting it to 60 mph in 9.3 seconds, and producing 136 lb-ft of torque. Reviews say the manual-shifter has a short-throw clutch (!!), handling is nice and crips on the fully independent suspension, and braking is great for the class because of ABS. Go cheap wagons.
So I participated in a Psychology experiment today. It'll help fulfill the 6-hour experiment requirement in my Intro to Psychology class.

So I had my usual Thursday classes today, including EN120. The feature department today was Civil Engineering, so we built 1-foot-long bridges out of dry noodles and dental floss. Our group's design seemed to work pretty well, it held up the big bucket and 11 cups of sand, better than the average at the time (we were more than halfway through all the bridges when they got to ours)
Doh! Well I found out today that Saturn has decided to cancel their entire SW line, another cool wagon has dissapeared from the market!

The Wash U Symphony had the first rehearsal of the semester today at the west campus. Wow... since I'm playing first violin, this is the hardest orchestra music I've ever played in my life. I mean, at least with Youth Symphony last year, I was 2nd violin. This is going to be a huge time commitment, I can't compare this to Ladue High School...

So I had my Tuesday classes today, but the professor never showed up to our Psychology Seminar class... we waited for half an hour, and then we kinda wrote a note and left, figuring something had happened.

So I finally went to the Office Depot in Clayton today to do some school supply shopping. Make that, the Clayton High School hangout, everyone there was all buddy-Hi-how-have-you-been-we-should-call-this-place-the-Clayton-hangout. So we had our first Wash U Chamber Orchestra tonight at Holmes Lounge. It went really well, a lot of my Ladue friends came, that made me happy.

Woah, our Chamber Orchestra director goes all out, it's awesome. I mean, she arranged some of the music that we're playing for our instrumentation, which I think is totally cool. But today, she brought her MD player and a nice mic, and we played through all of the pieces we're playing and recorded it, and she'll produce a CD and all that. That's the way to go.
