Ouch. Rain. Heavy rain with flash flood warnings. Well, after chilling a little in the hotel pool, we decided to go out and see what we can do in the rain. Well, there was an entertainment centre, and there was this cool 360° VR simulator. Very very cool. After the weather cleared up a little, we went for a tour of the area on an amphibious vehicle. The thing can't get up hills at decent speed. Owell, at least it does 40° inclines. And hey, can't expect much, it's a boat, literally.
Well, weather cleared up, tracks dried, so went go-carting. The carts here aren't fast, but the track is nice and curvy all over, so that's fun.

We drove down to Poplar Bluff to visit some friends. We stopped at a seafood restaurant near Lake Wappappello. Seafood is good. Frog legs.
I think there is a hole in the van's muffler, it makes this nice low thumping vrooming sound of a sports car with some tight exhaust. Maybe we should get that fixed. Owell, I'm kinda enjoying driving it like that.
About 1630 we set out towards Branson, MO. Wow, you can see more sawmill development along US60 now, and even some clear-cutting going on beside the highway.

I made a splash page for the school's website.
We put an old Commodore PET up for sale on eBay that we found @ school. Wow, one bid already. That thing is ancient, it's old that I am!
Windows 2000 came in today. I also got them to ship me Word Perfect Office 2000 for $13. Forget Microsoft, Corel rocks.

That video card came with some crummy drivers. It doesn't support DirectDraw correctly. Maybe it's because it's Win9x drivers, not specifically Win98. Owell, I'm getting Win2000 tomorrow, I'll see how that goes. I downloaded some regular TNT2 drivers, and they work fine. However, I only am noticing a 2D performance increase, 3D doesn't seem any faster. Owell, after Win2000, and some more thorough comparison testing, I'll see if I like this card.

My Powercolor TNT2 M64 came in today. It has 32MB VRAM and TV in/out. It's got OpenGL, hardware accelerated MPEG, and all that good stuff. Runs fine so far, but Powercolor is a totally small company. The card came in a white box with no support information, nobody to contact. No website to be found anywhere either. Owell, time to get the driver updates from Riva directly.

Wow, downtown St. Louis is great. I've begun to appreciate it again now that I work downtown. It's like, lunchtime, drive out, get a nice view of the skyline, and eat lunch with a bunch of businessmen at local takeouts and restaurants. I64 also provides a nice view.

Argh! Darn it! My brother kicked my CD-ROM, and it shorted out, and smoke poured out of it. It was kinda cool, but it's broken! Ack! No! Why do I have to be so emotional about my computer hardware?
