Found a really interesting car today, one that has very good value. I love station wagons, cause they have lots of room, still can handle nicely like a car, unlike most SUVs, and are moderately priced. I was surfing around auto sites and I found out about the new Hyundai Elantra GL Wagon. It's only $12399, comes with stick shift (yes!), and has a twin-cam engine (wow! 140 hp in a stock small station wagon engine!). But this thing isn't small.. it has 32.5 cubic feet of trunk space! That's almost as big as a Subaru Outback. And that is much larger than the almost same priced Saturn SW1 station wagon. Here is the Yahoo Review of this baby. The looks of this reminds me of the Ford Taurus wagon. Here is the link to this hot wagon on the Hyundai site. If you click on "Interior" of it on the Hyandai Site, and roll your mouse over the Speedometer, you will notice that it goes up to 220... I hope that's km/hr :) Browsing around the interior with the Quicktime VR, I notice something very familiar about it, like, Honda Accord? :) Hehe, too bad it doesn't come standard w/ ABS, it's like a $1800 option, but that's OK. The engine comes right out of their sport coupe, the Tiburon, so it should be pretty peppy. Let's see, what else... drag coefficient of .34 (nice, gotta soup up that engine and it can reach incredible speeds), 0-60 in 9 seconds (pretty darn good for a cheap station wagon, gotta soup up that engine and see what that does to it), and top speed 112 mph (again, gotta soup up that engine, but pretty nice stock for the price). Owell, sounds like a pretty darn nice car for the price, better than the other stupid wagons like the Suzuki Esteem or Daewoo, and bigger than the Saturn and Ford Escort.

My CD writer is awesome. It writes very smoothly CD-R and CD-RW, and since the buffer is so big, I have no chance of getting buffer underruns, even whilst multi-tasking. And I write @ the full 4X 600kB a second, which is pretty darn good for an cheapo IDE drive that cost $130 :)
I actually went to some sort of a social event tonight... Rebecca Kletzker hosted a party for the Strolling Strings, kinda to kick off the year and say goodbye to all the college-bound people.

My 20X/4X/4X CD-RW/R writer came in today. It's very cool, has 2 MB hardware cache. Now I have a nice means of backing up data. This is awesome.
